《此时此刻》系列来自于2021-2022年特殊时期下的一些日常速涂。因为行动范围上的限制，有了大量的时间去观察限定空间内的生活点滴。
The series of Right Here Right Now comes from my daily sketches during the special time from 2021-2022. Due to the limited scope of movement, I have a lot of time to observe the details of life in a limited space.
The theme of my work is mainly about daily objects and the scenery that can be seen everywhere. Details are magnified as well as my emotions when seeing them. Inspired by the concept of “行禅” （Walking meditation）, that is, to put aside the interference of mind and thinking, and to be purely aware of the feelings brought by objects and fields. In the mental activity during this process, those deeply hidden thoughts and emotions could be sensed. At the same time, because of the extreme focus on the present moment, the awareness of the mind makes all dualistic thoughts and judgments no longer affect the viewer, with all perceptions being alien but fresh, which is the entry point to the long and peaceful joy to unearth the deepest side of all the emotions.
In addition, time does not exist; the past and future just exist in the mind, so the present is the only moment that can be experienced. These juxtaposed two paintings are created individually without an intentional design, however, a new story was born thanks to the diptych mounting. When the linear time was reset materially, their association was also created psychologically by coincidence. And the framing method in my work similar to specimen mounting is aim to restore and preserve beautiful and peaceful moments in daily life expecting emotional resonance from viewers.

Zhongwen Hu is a Shanghai-based painter, illustrator, and animator. Her work emphasizes scenes of positive energy — joy, tranquility, love — that spring up in the seemingly mundane motions of everyday life. Bringing emotional sensitivity to the canvas, her work can be found in galleries, books and commercial products.
作品曾于上海 Mür Mür Lab 举办个展；入选上海衡山合集展览；美国Vox Populi画廊；英国 Wells Art Contemporary Awards 2018 展览；Zhou B Art Center 画廊；美国Viridian Artist举办的"30 under 30” 展览（策展人为惠特尼美术馆策展人Chrissie Iles）；Huntington Beach Art Center 画廊；Axis Gallery Sacramento 画廊；ArtHelix 画廊；Point of Contact 画廊；Baton Rouge 画廊；Random Access 画廊；Spark 当代艺术中心；Michael Sickler 画廊等。同时也入选媒体及杂志如Wallpaper*，Kinfolk，It’s Nice That，Girls Club Asia，Artmaze Magazine，IFLA!，Lungs Project，Art Uncovered by BTR Today等。
Zhongwen has exhibited at Mür Mür Lab, Shanghai; The Mix Place, Shanghai; Vox Populi, PA; The Bishop’s Palace, Wells, UK; Zhou B Art Center, IL; Viridian Artists, NY; Huntington Beach Art Center, CA; Axis Gallery Sacramento, CA; ArtHelix, NY; Point of Contact Gallery, NY; Baton Rouge Gallery, LA; Random Access Gallery, NY; Spark Contemporary Art Space, NY; and Michael Sickler Gallery, NY; among others. Zhongwen’s work has been published in Wallpaper*, Kinfolk, It’s Nice That, Artmaze Magazine, IFLA!, Lungs Project, etc.

工作室画廊2016初成立于上海。作为上海最早支持国际艺术家驻留项目的商业画廊。目前经营着两处实体空间，画廊空间专注于艺术家的工作呈现与推广；工作室空间作为画廊空间的学术引擎，聚焦于非营利性的艺术项目与研究记录。工作室画廊不是简单意义上的画廊空间+工作室空间；而是一种对艺术生产和消费机制的重构。通过对艺术家工作状态的深入观察，探究其艺术创作的真实动机；努力协助艺术家把工作中产生的价值转化成共识。
自成立以来，工作室画廊除了举办专业性的展览，还发起了多个话题性的艺术项目：基于艺术家工作过程记录的《艺术家讨论》；基于艺术家驻留工作汇报的《OpenStudio》；基于艺术家创作交流以及评论的《艺术现场》和《Critique Room》。
As
the first gallery in Shanghai to provide international artist
residency, Studio Gallery was established in early 2016. Since then, we
have continued to support the wide-ranging potential of emerging and new
talents, complemented by innovative activities to nourish and enrich
the local artistic environment.
The gallery operates two physical
spaces. The gallery space locates in the heart of downtown Shanghai,
continuously organizing topical exhibitions. While the studio space
serves as the academic engine of the gallery space to explore and
transform the value generated from artists’ practice into consensus.
With
a bold and cutting-edge designed gallery space, we aim to create an
inspirational dialogue with the audience through diverse public
programs, including topical exhibitions, Artist Talk, Critique Room,
etc.
